First Rite of Reconciliation for children in Yr 5 and Yr 6

We are offering your child an opportunity to receive the first rite of the Sacrament of Penance( individual confession). Introducing children to the greatness of God’s mercy in the Sacrament of Penance is a two step process. The children participated in a simple celebration of the sacrament- the second rite- as part of their preparation to receive their First Holy Communion. In the year after they make their First Holy Communion, they can celebrate more fully the Sacrament of Penance with individual confession and absolution- the first rite. The children missed out on this last year due to Covid restrictions,  and so we are offering this  to Year 5 and Year 6 children who  made their First Holy Communion in 2019 and 2020.

If you would like your child to continue on their sacramental journey, here is the simple program of preparation for the sacrament.

Parent Meeting- Monday 15^th February, 4:00 pm St Mary’s Church

Lesson- Monday -22^nd February, 3:30 pm St Mary’s Church with Di Hoyle

Receive Sacrament- Saturday 27^th February 27^th  4:00pm-5:00pm St Mary’s Church.
