Care and Concern

CARE AND CONCERN is a Parish based outreach organisation providing assistance to the local community, by responding to the needs of the people, in a Christian, neighbourly and practical way.

As a Catholic organisation working in co-operation with other Christian organisations, we are inspired in our ministry by:

THE LOVE OF THE FATHER, THE WORD AND EXAMPLE OF JESUS and THE GUIDANCE OF THE SPIRIT.

We also network with other agencies in Beaudesert.

Services are provided by our Member Volunteers in the following areas:

Joining the Rosters of local community organisations such as:

Meals on Wheels.

Visitation: Home Visits and Aged Care Facilities.

Bereavement Assistance: Although the Parish assist in preparing for the Funeral Liturgy, Care and Concern provide catering for a post Funeral Gathering which includes sandwiches, slices, small cakes, scones, tea and coffee, and cold drinks at a nominal fee of $7 per head.  Hot food can also be provided on request.

Care and Concern also provide assistance in Emergency Relief Situations, through funds we receive from the State Government via Centacare Head Office and the Archbishop’s Diocesan Fund respectively.

The assistance provided is mainly food and some limited financial assistance in some other areas may be available.

Our assistance is not restricted to these areas however, we also assist people who come in for help to complete forms or who just want to talk to someone, because they do not know where or who to turn to.

We also refer clients to Social Workers, Counsellors, and other services when applicable.
